Man named Andy Byron speaks out after being mistaken for CEO caught with employee on Coldplay jumbotron

Businessowner Andy Byron had to make clear he was ‘not that Andy Byron’ after the CEO of Astronomer went viral

What a day to be named Andy Byron.

On the off chance you’ve not heard this name in the past 24 hours, it’s the name of the CEO of the New York-based company Astronomer, who was featured on the big screen at Coldplay’s recent gig in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Wednesday (July 16).

Byron is married, but he attended the gig with his employee Kristin Cabot, who is the Chief People Officer of Astronomer.

In footage that has now gone viral, Byron was spotted on the camera standing behind Cabot with his arms around her, while she leaned back into his chest and held onto his hands.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin called attention to the pair as they appeared on the screen, but the musician was left baffled when Cabot suddenly moved to cover her face, and Byron dropped to the ground and disappeared from the frame.

The incident has resulted in a lot of attention on Byron – but of course, he’s not the only Andy Byron out there.

As members of the public sought to find out more about Byron online, it seems they accidentally stumbled upon another businessman who also happens to be called Andy Byron.

I’ll refer to this new guy as Andy, to try and avoid confusion.

Having apparently been flooded with attention after the Coldplay video, Andy took to LinkedIn to assure people that he wasn’t the same Andy Byron who had appeared in the footage – not only because he’s a different person, but also because he ‘wouldn’t be caught dead at a Coldplay concert’.

Sorry, Chris Martin.

In his post, Andy said of the viral video: “No, this isn’t me.”

The businessman then went on to make the most of the attention by promoting his own motion graphics design business, writing: “I’m the Andy Byron who makes videos for big screens, not the one who gets caught on them.

“If you want to make video content that goes viral for the right reasons, let’s connect. check Stylo Motion Design.”

To really make sure he wasn’t mistaken for Byron, Andy also updated his bio on LinkedIn to say: “NOT THE GUY FROM THE COLDPLAY GIG!!Owner/Creative Director at Stylo Motion Design.”

Andy has been praised for his response to the sudden influx of attention, with one LinkedIn user writing: “This is so good.”

After Andy’s post went viral, he added a comment which read: “My wife is going to be so happy when I tell her that I won LinkedIn for a day.”

Coldplay fans haven’t been able to ignore Chris Martin’s reaction after a camera at the band’s gig in Massachusetts appeared to capture married CEO Andy Byron with his arms around one of his employees.

Footage from the awkward moment at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough has gone viral following the gig on Wednesday (July 16), which Byron attended along with Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer of his company, Astronomer.

While many people would love to go to a Coldplay gig as a work trip, Byron and Cabot gave the impression they were more than colleagues when they suddenly appeared on the huge camera.

In the video, Byron, who is married, is standing behind Cabot with his around around her waist. Meanwhile, Cabot is holding Byron’s hands and leaning back into him.

Coldplay frontman Martin called attention to the pair as they appeared on the camera, saying: “Oh look at these two.”

As soon as Byron and Cabot realized they were on the big screen, their smiles dropped and they broke apart. Cabot put her hands to her face and turned her back to the camera, while Byron dropped to the floor in an apparent attempt to get off the screen.

Considering music fans often can’t get enough of being shown on the big screen, Martin appeared to realize something was wrong when he said: “Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair or they’re just really shy.”

The frontman continued to strum on his guitar, but admitted he didn’t really know how to handle the situation as he added: “I’m not quite sure what to do.”

Moving past the bizarre moment, the camera then cut to two Coldplay fans in banana costumes, who seemed much more happy to be on camera.

According to one user on X, formerly Twitter, Martin allegedly went on to ask couples appearing on the screen if they were ‘actually together’.

“Super messy,” the X user added.

None of the parties involved in the incident have spoken out at the time of writing (July 17), though Astronomer has shut down rumors about a viral statement which had been attributed to Byron, saying it’s ‘not a real statement’.

But fans can’t get over Martin’s reaction to the whole situation, with one writing: “chris martin saying “oh what” when the guy goes down makes this 100x funnier.”

“Chris Martin’s reaction is priceless,” another posted.

Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, while Cabot was previously married before finalizing her divorce in 2022.

LADbible Group has reached out to Chris Martin’s reps and Astronomer for comment.
