Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora was among the tens of thousands of fans who got more than they bargained for during Coldplay’s concert at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday night.
What should have been a routine performance and evening for Coldplay in Foxborough, Massachusetts, turned out to be one of the most bizarre internet-breaking moments of the year. And Alex Cora was there to see it unfold.
During the performance, the kiss cam showed Astronomer CEO Andy Byron hugging Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer. Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron, and they have two children together.
The reactions of Byron and Cabot made the viral moment all the more awkward and cringeworthy:
Speaking to reporters ahead of Friday’s afternoon game against the Chicago Cubs, Alex Cora revealed that he was at the concert that inadvertently broke the internet.
